Narrator: Once upon a time, a king and queen ruled over a distant land. One winter day, the queen was doing needle work while looking through the window, when a bird flew by distracting the queen and she pricked her finger. A single drop of blood fell on the snow outside her window. As she looked at the blood on the snow she said.

Queen: Oh, how I wish that I had a daughter that had skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood, and hair as black as ebony.

Narrator: The queen got her wish when she gave birth to a baby girl who had skin white as snow, lips red as blood, and hair black as ebony. They named her Snow White, but sadly, the queen died . Soon after, the king married a new woman who was beautiful, but proud and cruel. She had studied dark magic and owned a magic mirror, of which she would daily ask.

Step-Mother: Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the most beautiful of them all?.

Mirror: You, my Queen, are the most beautiful of them all.

Narrator: This pleased the queen. She knew that her magical mirror could speak only the truth. One morning the queen asked.

Step-Mother: Mirror, mirror on the wall, who´s the most beautiful of them all?.

Mirror: You, my queen, are the most beautiful; it is true. But Snow White is even more beautiful than you.

Narrator: The Queen was angry and ordered her huntsman to take Snow White into the woods to be killed.

Step-Mother: Go to the forest, take the girl and kill her! And as a proof, bring me her heart! Ha,ha,ha,ha

Huntsman: Yes, my Queen, I will do as you say.

Narrator: The poor huntsman took Snow White into the forest, but coul not kill her.

Huntsman: Snow White, I cannot do this, you have to escape, go, run, run!

Snow White: Thank you good man, I will always be grateful for what you have done.

Narrator: Then the huntsman killed a deer and took his heart to the Queen.

Huntsman: Here, my Queen, I did as you told me. Take her heart.

Step-Mother: Ha, ha, ha, ha, now, I am the most beautiful of them all!

Narrator: Meanwhile, Snow White was at the forest.

Snow White: Oh, I am all alone in the great forest, I don´t know what to do.

Narrator: Then she began to run. And just as evening was about to fall she saw a little house and went inside.

Snow White: Oh, this house is so beautiful. Everything is so small and clean.

Narrator: The table was set, and there was food on the plates.

Snow White: I am so hungry. I will eat a few vegetables and a little bread from each little plate and from each cup I will drink a bit of milk.

Narrator: Since she was so tired, she lay down on one of the little beds and fell fast asleep.

Narrator: After dark, the owners of the house returned home. They were the seven dwarves who mined for gold in the mountains. As soon as they arrived home, they saw that someone had been there.

Dwarf 1: Who has been sitting in my chair?

Dwarf 2: Who has been eating from my plate?

Dwarf 3: Who has been eating my bread?

Dwarf 4: Who has been eating my vegetables?

Dwarf 5: Who has been eating with my fork?

Dwarf 6: Who has been drinking from my cup?

Narrator: But the seventh one, looking at his bed, found Snow White lying there asleep.

Dwarf 7: Look over here, come quick!

Narrator: The seven dwarves all came running up, and they cried out with amazement.

Dwarves: Oh good heaven! This child is beautiful!

Narrator: They did not wake her up, but let her continue to sleep in the bed. The next morning Snow White woke up, and when she saw the seven dwarves she was frightened.

Snow White: Oh, no!

Dwarf 1: Don´t be afraid of us. What is your name?

Snow White: My name is Snow White.

Dwarf 2: How did you find your way to our house?

Snow White: My stepmother tried to kill me, then the huntsman let me free and that´s how I had to run the entire day through the forest, finally I got to your house.

Narrator: The dwarves spoke with each other for awhile and then said.

Dwarves: If you will keep house for us, and cook, make beds, wash, sew, and knit, and keep everything clean and orderly, then you can stay with us, and you shall have everything that you want.

Snow White: Yes, with all my heart.

Narrator: So Snow White lived happily with the dwarves. Every morning they went into the mountains looking for gold, and in the evening when they came back home Snow White had their meal ready and their house clean . Meanwhile, at the palace.

Step-Mother: Mirror, mirror, on the wall, Who in this land is the most beautiful of all?

Mirror: You, my Queen, are beautiful; it is true. But Snow White, beyond the mountains with the seven dwarves, is still a thousand times more beautiful than you.

Step-Mother: Now I understand! Oh, that huntsman deceived me… I have to think of something.

Narrator: She went into her most secret room, and she made a poisoned apple.

Step-Mother: With this poisoned apple you will die, Snow White! Ha, ha, ha, ha

Narrator: From the outside the apple was beautiful and shiny. But anyone who might eat a little piece of it would died.

Step-Mother: I have to disguise myself so she can´t recognize me. Now I will go to those dwarves´ house.

Narrator: She traveled to the dwarves house and knocked on the door. Snow White put her head out of the window, and said.

Snow White: I must not let anyone in.

Step-Mother: Would you like to taste one of my sweet apples?

Snow White: No, I cannot accept anything from strangers.

Step Mother: Are you afraid of poison? Look, I’ll cut the apple in two. You eat half and I will eat the other half.

Narrator: But only one half of the apple was poisoned.

Snow White: Well, all right, I see that you are also eating part of it, so give me the other half.

Narrator: She barely had a bite in her mouth when she fell to the ground dead.

Step Mother: Ha, ha, ha, White as snow, red as blood, black as ebony wood! The dwarves shall never awaken you. Good-bye Snow White! Ha, ha, ha, ha

Narrator: Back at home she asked her mirror.

Step Mother: Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who in this land is the most beautiful of all?

Mirror: You, my Queen, are the most beautiful of all.

Narrator: When the dwarves came home that evening they found Snow White lying on the ground.

Dwarf 3: Snow White, wake up, what happened to you.

Dwarf 4: She is not breathing at all. She is dead!

Narrator: They lifted her up and looked at her for a long time.

Dwarf 5: Snow White, wake up, talk to us, please.

Narrator: But nothing helped. She was dead. They laid her on a bed of straw, and all seven dwarves sat next to her and cried for three days. They were going to bury her, but she still looked as fresh as a living person, and still had her beautiful red cheeks.

Dwarf 6: We cannot bury her in the black earth.

Dwarf 7: Let´s make a transparent glass coffin made, so we can see her from all sides.

Narrator: And they did it, then they put her inside the coffin.

Dwarf 1: We have to place the coffin outside on a mountain, and one of us will always stay with it and watched over her.

Dwarves: Yes, we will do that.

Narrator: One day a prince entered these woods. He saw the coffin on the mountain with beautiful Snow White in it.

Prince: Let me have the coffin. I will give you anything you want for it.

Dwarves: We will not sell it for all the gold in the world.

Prince: Then give it to me. I cannot live without being able to her.

Narrator: The good dwarves felt sorry for him and gave him the coffin.

Dwarves: Take good care of her, we will always love her.

Prince: I will. She will be my most precious treasure.

Narrator: The prince had his servants carry the coffin away on their shoulders. But then it happened that one of them stumbled on some brush.

Prince: Be careful, watch your steps. I will never forgive you if something happens to her.

Narrator: But this dislodged from Snow White’s throat the piece of poisoned apple. She opened her eyes, lifted the lid from her coffin, sat up, and was alive again.

Snow White: where am I?

Prince: You are with me. I love you! Come with me to my father’s castle. You will be my wife.

Narrator: At that moment Snow White fell in love with him. Their wedding was planned with great splendor and majesty. Snow White’s wicked step-mother was invited to the wedding, but before leaving her castle, she asked her mirror.

Step-Mother: Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who in this land is the most beautiful of all?

Mirror: You, my Queen, are beautiful; it is true. But the young queen is a thousand times more beautiful than you.
Step-Mother: I have to see that for myself!
Narrator: When she arrived at the wedding, she saw Snow White.
Step-Mother: No! You`re dead! You`re dead!
Prince: Take this woman away from this land!
Guard: Yes, Prince.
Narrator: And no one saw the evil queen again. And Snow White and the Prince lived happily ever after

Setting: At night in the forest.
Snow White: Where are you taking me? Look… it´s getting dark and this forest is far away from the palace. I want to go back!

Hunter: No, dear, we have to keep walking. We need to keep looking for an apple tree.

Snow White: But, I´m tired. I can´t keep walking anymore! And then… we have to go back.

Hunter: Come on, don´t be lazy. We are almost there.

Snow White: Why are you shaking?

Hunter: It´s just that….

Snow White: What´s wrong? You look worried.

Hunter: It´s nothing. It´s just that I promised…. I promised…. You´re a nice person.

Snow White: Did you promise to hurt me? To whom?

Hunter: Yes! I promised that I would get rid of you forever.

Snow White: Why? I haven´t done anything wrong to you.

Hunter: Not to me, but you did to the Queen… to your own stepmother!

Snow White: Oh No! I knew it! She doesn´t like me! But.. tell me more.

Hunter: I can´t do it! I just can´t!… Stay here and don´t go back, maybe someone will help you.

Snow White: Are you sure? Am I free?

Hunter: Yes! I will tell the Queen that you died.

Snow White: Oh, thank you… thank you! Now go back, before the Queen sends someone to look for you.

Hunter: Good-bye. Don´t be afraid.

Snow White: I told you it was getting dark, and I am afraid of wolves!

Hunter: Don´t worry, you are not in Little Red Riding Hood Story.

Snow White: What are you going to tell the Queen?

Hunter: I´ll think about it. Go now!

Snow White: Thank you, good-bye!

Narrator: Snow White started to run. Then she sat under a tree and fell asleep. A few minutes later some dwarves were passing by talking and laughing, and they saw the pretty girl.

Dwarf 1: Oh, look at her hair!

Dwarf 2: It´s hair, not gold!

Dwarf 3: Did you say gold?

Dwarf 4: It´s gold! gold!

Dwarf 5: Shh, you are going to wake her up!

Dwarf 6: She´s alive!

Dwarf 7: She´s so beautiful!

Dwarf 1: We can´t leave her here!

Dwarf 2: But… why is she here?

Dwarf 3: Maybe she doesn´t have a home… or maybe she got lost!

Dwarf 4: It´s Gretel!

Dwarf 5: Ha, ha, ha…. Gretel is another story, you fool!, besides, she was with her brother Hansel… remember?

Narrator: Suddenly Snow White woke up.

Snow White: Who are you?

Narrator: The Seven Dwarves started talking at the same time.

Snow White: No! No!… I don´t understand! Speak one at a time!

Dwarf 1: We

Dwarf 2: Are

Dwarf 3: The

Dwarf 4: Seven

Dwarf 5: Duarves

Dwarf 6: We are

Dwarf 7: Honest and hardworkers.

Dwarves: Who are you? What are you doing here?

Snow White: I am a poor girl, and I am looking for a job.

Dwarf 1: Do you know how to cook?

Snow White: Yes, I do.

Dwarf 2: Do you know how to sew?

Snow White: Yes, I do.

Dwarf 3: Do you know how to sing?

Snow White: Yes, I do.

Dwarf 4: And how to dance?

Snow White: Just a little.

Narrator: Then they all started to dance.

Dwarf 5: Stop it!

Dwarf 6: Let´s go home!

Narrator: Next day Snow White prepared breakfast for the Seven Dwarves.

Dwarf 1: The cheesecake is not very good.

Dwarf 2: The soup needs some salt, too.

Dwarf 3: Don´t forget to clean the windows.

Dwarf 4: And mop the floor.

Dwarf 5: And make the beds.

Dwarf 6: And iron our shirts.

Dwarf 7: Leave her alone.

Snow White: It´s getting late, you have to go to work, and I have a lot of things to do, too.

Dwarf 1: Don´t forget to lock the door.

Snow White: Yes… yes, I know … I will not open the door to anybody, just you!

Narrator: The Seven Dwarves left he house, and the girl started to wash the dishes. Then she heard someone shouting outside.

Old Woman: Apples for sale! Apples for sale! You will not find these red and delicious apples in any other forest!

Snow White: Apples! I haven´t tasted an apple in a long, long time!

Narrator: Then she opened the door, and said.

Snow White: Old woman! Old woman!

Old Woman: Are you talking to me?

Snow White: Yes, you are the only old woman I see here.

Narrator: But the old woman, was in fact her evil stepmother.

Narrator: What do you want, pretty girl?

Snow White: I want an apple. I like them so much!

Old Woman: Oh, it´s so hot! Can I have a glass of water?

Snow White: Sure, come in.

Narrator: When the old woman was inside the house, she said.

Old Woman: Since you are being so kind to me, I will give you the most beautiful and sweetest apple I have.

Narrator: Snow White gave the old woman a glass of water, and said.

Snow White: Drink some water… it´s fresh water from the well.

Narrator: Eat the apple.

Snow White: Thank you.

Narrator: Snow white bit the apple, and said.

Snow White: Oh, it´s a little bit sour… you said they were sweet apples.

Old Woman: And they are…. Eat it… eat it.

Snow White: Oh, I am not feeling very well… I´m dying…

Narrator: And she fell to the floor.

Old Woman: At last! Now my mirror will not tell me anymore that there´s someone else more beautiful than me! That hunter lied to me…. Oh, I would like to see those dwarves face when they find her… ha, ha, ha, ha!

Narrator: The old woman left the house leaving the door open. A few minutes later the dwarves came home from the mine.
Dwarf 1: Why is the door open?

Dwarf 2: Look, Snow White is lying on the floor!

Dwarf 3: Snow White, what happened!

Dwarf 4: Wake-up!

Narrator: They all try to wake her up, but it was useless.

Dwarf 5: What are we going to do now?

Dwarf 6: What are we going to do?

Dwarf 7: Let´s cry.

Dwarf 1: Yes, in these cases we are supposed to cry.

Dwarf 2: It´s true, let´s cry!

Narrator: And they all start crying.

Dwarf 3: Stop it! We have to think what to do! Where are we going to bury her?

Narrator: The Seven Dwarves started to think.

Dwarf 4: We are not going to bury her. We will take her to the cave that´s in the mountain.

Dwarf 5: She will be surrounded by flowers, trees, and the little birds will sing beautiful songs to her.

Dwarf 6: Meanwhile, let´s cry!

Narrator: They all started to cry once again. After a while they took her to the mountain, and they left her there. A few minutes later, a handsome prince entered the cave and said.

Prince: Oh, I finally found a place to rest! I hope there aren´t any wild animals in here. I hope there were angeles living in this cave!

Narrator: Then he sat on a rock and covered his eyes with his hands, when he took his hands off his face, he saw Snow White, and said.

Prince: Oh my God! I was talking about angels, and there´s one in here! Who is she? What is she doing in this cave? Why is she lying there?

Narrator: He stood up, and got near Snow White, and looked at her carefully.

Prince: She is sleeping! Oh, my eyes never saw such a beauty! Those are the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen… even if they are closed… they are beautiful! Who is this lady who has captivated my heart? She should be my Queen! My throne, is her throne! I have to wake her up!

Narrator: He touched her, but she didn´t wake up.

Prince: My lady, wake up!

Narrator: He touched her again, but she didn´t wake up.

Prince: She doesn´t wake up!

Narrator: Then he touched her again.

Prince: She´s cold! Is she dead?

Narrator: He touched her again, and said.

Prince: She´s dead! Oh, poor me! I fell in love with a dead girl. This is not possible! Why did this beauty had to die, the same day I found her?

Narrator: Then he shook her trying to wake her up.

Prince: Wake up my Queen! Wake up!

Narrator: Suddenly she opened her eyes, stood up, and coughed a little.

Prince: I knew you were sleeping!

Snow White: Who are you? What are you doing here?

Prince: I am the prince… I mean, I was the prince, now I am your slave.

Snow White: You are a true gentleman. But, what are you doing here?

Prince: I was hunting, but I was tired, so I came into this cave to rest and I found you! But… what were you doing sleeping in this lonely cave?

Snow White: I was not sleeping. I was dead.

Prince: Dead?

Snow White: Yes, I ate a poisoned apple.

Prince: A poisoned apple?

Snow White: Are you Echo?

Prince: Echo?

Snow White: Yes! … Echo and Narcissus… anyway… my stepmother gave me a poisoned apple. But I think that it got stuck in my throat, and when you shook me, it went out.

Prince: Oh, I am sorry!

Snow White: You are sorry? You saved my life!

Prince: Will you be my Queen?

Snow White: I don´t know what to say.

Narrator: Then the Seven Dwarves entered the cave.

Dwarves: Snow White!

Prince: Snow White?

Snow White: Yes, my name is Snow White.

Prince: Will you marry me, Snow White?

Snow White: Oh, Yes, I will.

Narrator: And they kissed.
